Gloria Dei Lutheran Academy is committed to supporting parents in their God-given task of training their children, by providing a Christ-centered education that exalts the word of God and is marked by academic excellence.
Serving Infants through Grade 8th: Approximately 225 students.

Philosophy of Education

Gloria Dei Lutheran Academy has been established as a mission of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church to serve its members and the community by teaching that God, motivated by His love for us, has redeemed us by His grace, made evident through His Son Jesus Christ thereby restoring the broken relationship caused by our sinful nature, as revealed in Scripture.

We serve the family, to whom is given the responsibility for the Christian upbringing of its children. Gloria Dei extends Christian family values into the academic program by establishing standards of conduct in the classroom and all areas of extracurricular activities for the express purpose of educating our students in a wholesome Christian environment. Our major emphasis is the spiritual, academic, physical, social, and emotional growth or our students.

We believe all children are endowed with special gifts by their creator. It is our responsibility to assist and motivate the child to recognize and develop those gifts to glorify God.

In order to create a morally disciplined environment, we seek qualified, hard-working people who fear and love God, and love working with and around children. It is their calling to prepare students to live and work in this world, wherever God calls them to serve.

History

Gloria Dei Lutheran Learning Center opened it's doors in 1978 when Gloria Dei Lutheran Church sold $25,000 in bonds to build a four-room preschool and Kindergarten.  In 1989, Gloria Dei assumed ownership of the facilities used by Lutheran High School of South Florida, and began an eight year expansion program, adding one grade a year beginning with the first grade.  That year, the school's name changed to Gloria Dei Lutheran School.  The Child Development Center for ages one and two opened in the fall of 1993.  A number of modulars were later added to be used by the elementary grades and the preschool, and in the Fall of 2003, a "Baby Room" was added, for 6 weeks old infants - one year olds.  The current school name, Gloria Dei Lutheran Academy was chosen during the 1990-2000 school year.  Currently we serve infants through 8th grade.

Statement of Faith

The entire Bible, which points to Jesus as the Savior, is the insprired and errorless Word of God.  It is God's message of love and hope for all people.
There is only one true God, who exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is the creator of everything that exists.
Adam and Eve, our first parents, were originally created by God pure and holy.  They lived according to God's will, doing what was pleasing to Him.

Gloria Dei Lutheran Academy is fully accredited by the National Lutheran Association of Schools.
