Vision Statement

GLORIA DEI CHURCH & ACADEMY CONGREGATIONAL

VISION MEETING

On Sunday, July 26th, at a special congregational meeting, Pastor Darrell presented the new Gloria

Dei Vision and asked the members of Gloria Dei to affirm the Board of Directors and approve the

expenditure of up to $40,000.00 needed for improvements to and updating of our buildings and

property as referenced in our Transforming Congregations prescriptions.

Here is our new vision and the fundamentals of our vision and the "what's next" as we move forward

with Transforming Congregations.

T ARGET…Gloria Dei will reach out to families and young adults from our surrounding

neighborhoods, our Gloria Dei Academy, and adjacent college campuses.

W HY…Gloria Dei will provide a safe and accepting environment so families and young

adults can live with joy and hope as they grow in a personal relationship with God.

B ROAD STRATEGY….With the goal of serving God, by giving our time, talent and treasure,

the people of Gloria Dei will provide (including through partnering with community groups)

education, nurture and other services to families and young adults.

S PECIFIC GOALS….We envision Gloria Dei being a place in the near future where the following

are taking place:

…a cutting edge worship service that reaches out to, and involves young adults.

…a strong Youth ministry, integrated into the worship, outreach, service and fellowship of Gloria

Dei

…a group of Gloria Dei volunteers who serve as tutors for under privileged children in east Davie.

…a mothers of pre-school group, that supports young Moms.

…a vibrant Children’s ministry at both Sunday Worship services, designed for children at their age

level.

. ..a staffed nursery provided for children, age three and under, at both Sunday worship services.

... a revitalized Alpha Bible Study series focusing on young families from our Academy and surrounding

area.

…an Evangelism Explosion (EE) Gospel outreach program focusing on young families from our

Academy and surrounding area.

…an active Community Needs outreach program that involves Gloria Dei volunteers.
